Birks Art Appreciation Group - October 2026
Join us at 7:30pm on the Third Monday of the month for a new Art Appreciation Group, meeting upstairs at the cinema. Tickets: £6<div><br></div><div>Andrew McPherson, Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Edinburgh University who has been researching the life and works of William Gillies for many years and has had two books published on the subject, will be joining us on Monday 19 October. Gillies was a renowned Scottish landscape and still life painter who studied at Edinburgh College of Art and subsequently taught there for over 40 years, latterly as Principal.
