Private Hire - Glen Lyon Tweed Mill Short Film Screening<div><div>Campaign for wool month</div><div><br></div><div>2 screening's 10min short plus 30 min short at 4pm and 5pm then to the mill at 6pm to capture the full audience, expected more than 100. </div><div><br></div><div>The idea is that we are having an open local gathering with special guests at the mill from 4-6pm. The guest list is already at about 250 so far, so we thought two sets coming up mill street for a 4pm or 5pm sitting, then ending at mill at 6pm. We will have whisky and a talk at the mill and keep it open for people to look around and be welcome at the top and bottom of mill street...</div><div><br></div><div>Invite that went out:</div><div>We would be delighted if you could join us for a very special afternoon in Aberfeldy at the Glenlyon Tweed Mill on Thursday, 22nd October 2026, as we celebrate the premiere of two new short films to mark our 176th anniversary.</div><div><br></div><div>As many of you know, we missed the opportunity to celebrate our 175th birthday, making this gathering more meaningful. It is a chance to come together with friends, clients, mill customers and our local community to celebrate our shared heritage and look ahead to the future of Scotland's oldest working hand-weaving mill.</div><div><br></div><div>Thursday, 22nd October 2026</div><div>4.00pm – 6.00pm</div><div><br></div><div>Programme</div><div>4.00pm – Guests arrive at Aberfeldy Weaving Mill for refreshments.</div><div><br></div><div>To ensure all our guests have the opportunity to enjoy the films, they will be shown twice at the nearby Birks Cinema. With seating for around 100 people and over 250 guests expected, two identical screenings will allow everyone to experience the premieres.</div><div><br></div><div>The films include:</div><div>The Weavers – an Official Selection of the Edinburgh International Film Festival</div><div>The Glenlyon From Mill to Mannequin promotional film.</div><div><br></div><div>First Screening – 4.30pm</div><div>Guests attending the first screening will make the short five-minute walk to Birks Cinema before returning to the mill afterwards.</div><div><br></div><div>At the Mill (between screenings)</div><div><br></div><div>While one group is at the cinema, guests at the mill will enjoy:</div><div><br></div><div>Refreshments, kindly sponsored by Dewar's Distillery</div><div>A talk from our partner, Sir Alexander McCall Smith</div><div>A welcome from our Chairman, James McCallum</div><div>Guided tours of the mill with our talented weavers</div><div>Second Screening – 5.30pm</div><div><br></div><div>The same programme of films will then be shown again for the second group of guests.</div><div><br></div><div>Throughout the afternoon, everyone is warmly invited to enjoy time at the mill before or after their screening, with refreshments, conversation and the opportunity to explore the weaving mill and experience the craftsmanship that has been at the heart of Aberfeldy for generations. </div><div><br></div><div>This celebration is about much more than an anniversary.
