Her achievement as a portrait painter of great subtlety is now recognised in its own right, although in her own lifetime her work was overshadowed by her association with two ‘alpha male’ artists, her brother Augustus John and her lover Auguste Rodin. The Edinburgh exhibition, marking 150 years since her birth, is the first major retrospective of her work for over 40 years. Each talk will last approximately one hour.
